Re-shafting Irons

    Hey TT,

    Hope everyone's staying warm!

    I got a quick question... I got the 714 AP2s (haven't played them yet) but after my fitting I went with the XP95 shaft. However, I tried one of the Project X shafts (I think the 5.5) and it felt amazing, most accurate and easiest to hit for some reason. After that I tried the XP95 again and the results were similar (maybe because I was just getting in the groove?) so I went with that option because my budget did not allow for the Project X shafts. I know I haven't even played with the xp95s but I was just wondering how easy/hard it is to reshaft an iron. Maybe in a year or two I can go and get the project x shafts (maybe) since I know it will be in the back of my mind. And also, does it affect the performance of the club at all?

    Ovi,

    With regards to the re-shafting of your irons, this is a pretty easy process and something we can do in house for you.  If you decide in the future that you would like to switch your shafts please visit a local authorized Titleist Dealer to set up a return authorization (RA) number and to discuss all costs associated with the re-shaft. 

    As soon as we receive the irons in house, it is a fairly quick switch for you (they would be in house from 1-2 days) assuming that all components are available at the time of the work order. 

    I would recommend utilizing our repair department for the re-shaft as once the irons are worked on from an outside source, unfortunately the clubs would no longer be under warranty.  The re-shaft will not affect the performance of the club.

    Ryan... One of your comments had me raise an eyebrow.

    You noted in response to Ovi that should he decide in the "future" that he wants to switch shafts you recommend utilizing the Titleist repair department as once the irons are worked on from an outside source the clubs would no longer be under warranty.

    In Ovi's comments he was noting that this would be something he "may" do after a couple of years.

    Given that, I was curious what kind or warranty may be affected. I was under the impression that Titleist only offered a one year warranty on their irons. Am I missing something? Is it possible there is a warranty program that exceeds the one year period or were you suggesting that the re-shafting would come with a one year warranty if done by Titleist?
