hi i purchased a second hand set of 710 mb's with s300 shafts. they look, feel and play real i cant fault them in any way. but there is no serial number and it has me second guessing them. i purchased them from a trainee pro at the local pro shop ( a titleist authorized dealer) his story was that when the pro upgraded to the 712's he got the 710's and when the pro upgraded to the 714's he got the 712's and in turn i have got the 710's from him. does the lack of serial number indicate that they are not the real deal or do you have tour issue/ staff / demo's without serials. both my vockey's have serial numbers but the irons dont? i can not pick a single difference from the photo's on your website. is it worth speaking to the mentioned pro and seeing if he can shed some light on the story? any info into this would be great. I would have preferred new but it wasn't in my budget at this time and i was convinced they were real until discovering they should atleast have a serial number on the 6 iron. any info would be appreciated.

    cheers Luke

    HI Luke,

You can be assured that if you have purchased these irons second hand from a Titleist stockist that they will be genuine.

We upgrade our Titleist Staff Professionals every time there is a new generation of irons available- ie on a 2 year cycle.

Not all Titleist irons are stamped with serial numbers.  Some stores request no serial numbers on the irons and none of our Tour Leadership irons have serial numbers laser etched on them either.  It is a player preference.

The serial number is usually not stamped on every iron in the set either, hence the reason our club team will use the 6 iron to record a number that relates to the customers club specs that we keep on file at Titleist Australia.  We keep a record of all the ClubFitting specs our Titleist fitters send through with the orders.

Enjoy the 710 MB's they are a fantastic iron and are still used by many of Titleist Brand Ambassadors around the globe - including until earlier this year Adam Scott.

Then again I'm biased because I play the 710MB irons as well!

    Good golfing

    -Dave

    thanks for the reply Dave,

this is very reassuring as other websites are saying without the serial they are not real even tho i can not fault them. I have bought them as some inspiration to play more golf after only playing 2-3 rounds a year for the past 7 or 8 years. I love the 710 mb's they fly longer and higher than my previous blades and have better stopping control. i currently have 4i to Pw and im wondering is there a 2 iron to this set otherwise i may look into the 712u. i know there is a 3 iron and what would be the best way to get a hold of one as they are discontinued.

    thanks Luke
