I have recently joined a club and now that i get to play a few more rounds i find it interesting that i am often asked by the guys i play with...How do you get the ball to stop so quick on the greens?

Since i changed balls from PROV1 to the PROV1X this has been a part of my game that has helped with my scores...In conjunction with my Vokey wedges and the PROV1X the stop drop and stop has worked out beautifuly for me.  I tell them its the ball...PROV1X you cant go wrong..Some have told me ..Yer i have heard they are a good for that and thats as far as the conversation goes.

I cant tell them anymore ...as it would give them an advantage also if they used them so i leave it in there hands.

but for me the PROV1X is the best for my game it might be softer than others and not last as long but not much of  a price to pay for getting the ball to do what you want it too.

would love to hear some others who think the way id do....

Paul ...great to hear of your success, a combination of wedges, skill etc ...and if only a ball that did not discolor after a few shots?  Well done

    Hey Paul,

I too love the drop and stop ability of the ProV1x.

I played the Prov1 for quite some time because my home track has greens that get hard and fast in summer.

However, the ProV1 soon became a drop, stop and suck back off the green ball for me, for any pins that were cut anywhere near the front of the green.

Having said that, in winter our greens get quite soft, being in the Yarra Valley in Melbourne, so I've converted to the NXT Tour S.

I haven't lost any distance. The ball is more durable than the ProV1x and I can get at least three rounds out of the one ball.

To top it off, the NXT Tour S is available in Optic Yellow making it near on impossible to lose on foggy mornings.

I'm sure that I'll be back to the ProV1x come summer, however the NXT Tour S is an awesome ball and great value for money.

    Regards,

    Mark

    Hi Paul,

This is very much the same case as me. However about 12 months ago I purchased a set of AP1's.

These clubs used with Prov1x balls is amazing. I can use a 4 iron and the ball will pull up on the green real fast. I too get asked often how do you do it. I just say its the ball and the club.

I'm still adjusting to my Vokeys as sometimes the ball back spins off the green, but I try to hit past the pin now.

I've only been playing for 3.5 years now, love the game and love the Titleist clubs and balls I use.

    Cheers

    Carl D
