  1. Hi

I have a 910 D3 drive with the stock Aldila RIP stiff shaft. I was thinking about trimming around an inch off the end of the shaft to try and help to find the centre a bit more regularly and find a few more fairways.

Is there anything I need to be mindful of if going down this path? How much weight would need to be added to bring the club back to its original swing weight?

    Thanks

First thing you'd be doing is creating a stiffer shaft. If your swing speed can handle it then OK. If not you'd be better off fitting a cut down regular one. As to the swing weight it would be about 2- 3 lighter.

  3. By butt trimming you dont increase the stiffness....So if I have 1/2" longer shafts in my clubs, that makes them a softer flex ??? Have a look at any shaft makers site for trimming instructions and for a driver they will tell you to install shaft and trim from the butt for correct length.
